RESEARCH PROJECTS

I am currently involved in several research projects related to my research focus. I work closely with my co-authors in most of my projects.

01

POLITICS OF PLUS SIZE TRAVEL

My project centers on understanding the politics of plus-size travel, and the experience of the plus-size traveler community, which faces sizeism in various industries, including travel. The plus-size travel movement, led by plus-size travelers, exposes the market's gap and marginalization of plus-size individuals.

02

Politics of Traditional Consumption

As globalization brings a greater flow of ideologies across borders, traditional consumptions are becoming increasingly politicized. What were once considered sacred and unchallenged practices are now being contested. My project aims to explore this politicization of traditional consumption.

Experiential Consumption & National Identity Work

Against the backdrop of nationalism, the nexus between consumption and national identity becomes increasingly interwoven. I use international tourism as a consumption context to examine how consumers make sense of their travel experience through the lens of national ideologies and how it sutures them to the nation.

04

Culture of Hospitality in Healthcare

This project focuses on bridging the gap between healthcare and hospitality. Drawing on the concept of 'hospitality as an organizational culture', my co-author and I explored how healthcare practitioners craft their unique hospitality, while striving for excellence in providing the best care for their patients.
